The
peruvian ceviche is the biggest in the
world
The Chairman of the Fishing Commission of the Municipality of Callao, engineer Santiago Enrico Campos, who was the singular promoter of this very Peruvian initiative, said that this has been an unusual fact because many people applied but very few could achieve this record.
Guinness representative Laura Hughens, gave Santiago Enrico Campos the Official Certificate of the "Guinness World Records", whose headquarters are located in London, and said that this mention enables us to be included in the next edition of the famous Book of Records, and eventually to be part of the famous London Museum.
On Tuesday, November 01, at 11:00 a.m. a press conference was held at the Hotel By Pass, Salón Mirador, where the country was given the record that appears in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Santiago Enrico said that "The Biggest Ceviche in the World" did not only try to set a record, but also to revalue our typical dish and spread it as a pride of the national gastronomy. He also declared that with this fact they have helped our gastronomy not to lose its Peruvian origin so that other countries cannot attempt to take it from us.
To achieve this uncommon merit it was used 16.534,67 lbs. of fresh fish, 3.747,86 lbs. of onions, 4.409,25 lbs. of lemons, 396,83 lbs. of salt, and 396,83 lbs. of limo chili. These ingredients, already prepared, were poured into a stainless steel dish, especially made with dimensions of 11.35m long x 3.05m wide x 0.36cm high.
Orlando Malca Pérez, Notary Public, corroborated all the process, engineer Juan J. Cruz Chávez of P&S Quality guaranteed health regulations, and "Guinness World Records" representatives supervised the event.
This ceviche was prepared by 200 specialists from the Asociación de Cevicheros y Restaurantes del Perú - ASERESPE (Peruvian Association of Ceviche Makers and Restaurants) under the coordination of the Chef Lalo Martins and engineer Santiago Enrico Campos. |
