The Galician company Senga, member of Nuaria group, will be in charge of trading the first canned cheese in the world which, under the name of "Queco", will be presented next week at the Food Fair to be held in Barcelona.

This new product, created by César López, an engineer native from Vigo, intends to revolutionize the cheese market since it can be canned and kept unopened for many years without losing any of its nutritional values.

Although this product will be officially presented at the Food Fair, seven autonomous communities are already trading this cheese with great success.

This product has given a good solution to different organisms and institutions which provide humanitarian support as they are now able to send cheese to any part of the world without the risks of transportation and the time needed to take it to points of destination. The canning features preserve all nutritional and organoleptic qualities of the cheese, and keep it fresh without refrigeration.

Innovation

The Nuaria group from Vigo gave economic support to the research and technological assistance to obtain this product, which is taking part in the Food Fair under the section of innovation products "Innoval 06".

This exhibition hall, which will be used as a launch platform of "Queco", is a multidisciplinary place where the most recent trends on food matters are presented.
